How Individual Counseling Works
Free Consultation
Choosing a therapist is a hard decision. You are signing on to feel safe and comfortable as you unpack some of the most intimate and vulnerable moments of your life. With this in mind, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to help you ask the necessary questions needed to help inform your decision.
Initial Assessment
Once you make the brave decision to start the therapeutic process, you will attend your initial assessment. The assessment can take place virtually or in-office. This is an opportunity for you to share the various elements of your life.
Collaborative Work
After the initial assessment, you and I will work together to create a plan to help improve your overall well-being. I take a person-centered approach by ensuring that you are the expert and author of your life. I am here to join you on your personal journey and support you along the process.
Ongoing Sessions
You and I will collaborate throughout ongoing sessions to address your current symptoms, your current patterns of distorted thinking, and assist you with improving your overall outlook in life.

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. It is an individual journey. Each person presents with a unique set of issues that they would like to unpack. The duration of therapy is based on an individual basis. Remember that healing is not linear!

At the time of the initial session, you and I will develop a plan for the frequency of your sessions based on need. It will be a collaborative decision to ensure that you are receiving the support that is needed to improve your well-being

In order to practice therapy (tele-medicine included), the therapist must be licensed in the specific state the individual resides in. With that in mind, I am licensed in the following states: North Carolina, Virgina, Minnesota, and Texas.
